Barisal University Starts Admission Process

Barisal University Has Started Its Academic Activities Through Holding Tests For Admission In Different Faculties For The First Time. The 1-Hour Admission Tests Are Scheduled For December 2 And 3.

The University Authorities Have Said Process Is On To Make All Modern Facilities Available To The First Batch Students. They Are Also Mulling Over Awarding Scholarships To All The Students, Sources In The University Administration Said. The Admission Committee Distributed Admission Forms At Tk 300 Each From September 22 To October 22.

The University Vice-Chancellor, Harunor Rashid Khan, Said That This Year About 25 Admission Seekers Would Compete For 400 Seats In 4 Faculties. According To The University’s Admission Committee, 1,469 Students Applied For 65 Seats In Mathematics Of Ka-Unit (Science Faculty), 3,716 Students Applied For 195 Seats Of Kha-Unit (Humanities) And 4, 739 Students For 140 Seats In Ga-Unit (Business Studies). The Students’ Position Will Be Determined From The Marks They Obtained From 120 Marks Written Tests And From Another 80 Marks Comparable To The Aspirants Marks In SSC And HSC Exams.

Vice-Chancellor Harunor Rashid Khan Said That They Would Soon Raise A Scholarship Fund For The Students And To Attract Meritorious Students In BU. He Said That Classes Would Be Started And Continued On The Temporary Campus At Barisal Zilla School Until The Completion Of The Construction Of Buildings On The Permanent Campus At Karnakathi Under Sadar Upazila. He Also Said That The University Authorities Provide The Students And Staff With City And BRTC Bus Services.

Houses Will Be Rented For The Employees And Officials, He Added. The Construction Of The Permanent Campus With Tk 95 Crore Would Take Additional 3-5 Years, He Said.
