DU ‘Gha’ Unit Admission Test Held | Fake Student Arrested


Written Test Of Gha Unit Of Honors First Year Admission Test Under 2011-2012 Academic Sessions Of Dhaka University (DU) Was Held Yesterday.

A Total Of 68,716 Candidates Contested For 1,165 Seats At 74 Centres.

DU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Harun-Or-Rashid, Dean Of The Social Sciences Faculty And Chief Coordinator Of ‘Gha’ Unit Admission Test Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed Visited The Examination Halls.

A Student Was Held From Lalmatia Girls' College Centre During Dhaka University (DU) 'Gha Unit' Admission Test (Transfer Unit) For The First Year Honours Courses For The Academic Year-2011-12 While He Was Giving Proxy For Another Student.

The Fake Candidate Introduced Himself As Abdul Hamid, A 3rd Year Student Of Social Science Department Of The University. However, He Managed To Flee Before Being Handed Over To The Police, Said Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed, Chief Coordinator Of The Admission Test.

Hamid Attended The Test To Give Proxy For A Candidate, Named Shihab Mrida, Roll 447451, But Our Hall Inspector Identified Him As A Fake When His Photograph Showed Mismatch, He Added.

The Coordinator Said That They Will Take Legal Action Against The Alleged Culprit Student Including Academic Punishment If He Will Be Proved A DU Student. He, However, Said That The Admission Test Was Held Peacefully And The Results Of The Test Will Be Published Within 7 Days. It Will Be Available On The University's Admission Website Http://Ghaunit.Univdhaka.Edu/. Applicants Are Also Able To Know Their Results By Sending SMS To 16321 From Mobile Operator Banglalink, Citycell, Robi And Airtel.

DU Admission Office Sources Informed That A Total Of 68,716 Students Appeared The Test For 1165 Seats. Of The Seats, Some 839 Are Kept Reserved For Science Group Students, 278 For Business Studies And Only 48 Seats For Humanities Group, They Added.
