The academic council meeting aims to take decision on admission process of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) is scheduled to be held on September 3, 2012.
No decision about the admission process for the academic session 2012-13 was taken before Eid.
The decision came at an emergency meeting held on August 28, 2012 with the university deans, department heads, and institute directors, with Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. SM Nazrul Islam in the chair.
"A committee on admission affairs will be formed at the meeting and they will finalized a suitable date for the admission test," said BUET VC.
According to the direction of syndicate meeting, the authorities called the meeting that was attended by only 15 deans, department heads, institute directors and hall provosts.
No classes were held for the fourth consecutive day after the 44-day vacation of the institution amid protests by the teachers demanding the resignation of its vice chancellor and pro-vice-chancellor.
The presence of students was very thin on the campus. The teachers abstained from all activities and the students were seemingly reluctant to return to classes.
